Welcome, I’m glad you’re here!

I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in complex trauma, with a passion for helping individuals reconnect with their innate resilience, self-compassion, and sense of wholeness. My approach is grounded in the understanding that what we often label as “symptoms”—such as anxiety, depression, emotional numbness, perfectionism, people-pleasing, dissociation, or even chronic self-criticism—are not signs of personal failure or dysfunction. Instead, they are deeply adaptive coping strategies—ingrained responses that once helped us survive overwhelming or unsafe experiences.

Rather than pathologizing these reactions, I view them as powerful indicators of a person’s strength. You survived—sometimes in silence, sometimes by shutting down, sometimes by staying hyper-alert, or by appeasing others to stay safe. These responses are not random; they’re brilliant, body-based strategies developed to navigate a world that didn’t feel safe. The challenge is that the very adaptations that helped you survive can later become internal prisons, restricting your ability to thrive, connect, or feel at ease.

My work is about honoring these survival parts—not exiling or overriding them, but listening to them with curiosity and compassion. I draw from modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Somatic Experiencing, and Polyvagal Theory to help clients develop a new relationship with their internal world. These approaches allow us to explore the “parts” of you that have carried pain or protected your vulnerability, and to build a felt sense of safety that allows for healing, choice, and growth.

With a strong foundation in nervous system awareness and a strengths-based perspective, I support clients in understanding how trauma is held in the body and how it influences the way we think, feel, and relate. Using principles of Somatic Experiencing and Polyvagal Theory, we work to increase nervous system regulation and capacity for connection. As clients begin to feel safer in their bodies and relationships, we create space to explore alternative strategies—new ways of approaching the same challenges that the old coping mechanisms were trying to protect you from.

Together, we aim not to erase your trauma history or “get rid” of parts of yourself, but to embrace and integrate them. Therapy becomes a space where all parts are welcome, and where survival-based strategies are acknowledged for their role—while gently opening the door to new, more functional ways of responding to life’s demands. Over time, this process often leads to decreased emotional distress, improved functioning, and a deeper connection to one’s true self.

Above all, I believe healing is not about becoming someone new—it’s about becoming more fully and safely yourself. If you have curious parts then feel free to reach out here or schedule a session or consultation!
